A man from Meerut, aged 63 has been caught on CCTV footage, while he was sexually exploiting several minor girls. A report in The Times of India said that he had been allegedly sexually exploiting young girls from his upscale residence over the past 2 years. This retired insurance executive’s deeds came to light on Thursday, leading to a public outrage, thus prompting the police to register an FIR against him. By late Thursday night, the police were able to trace 3 of the survivors. They are yet to find the other girls who, it seems, were forced into sexual exploitation and prostitution.

Reportedly, the survivors are very young, few of them being only 10 years old. The former insurance agent Vimal Chand was arrested from him house in Jagriti Nagar.

Chand retired in 2016, while he still was an assistant administrative officer (AAO) from Hanpur. Notably his wife, also an executive, passed away in the same year. Their daughter is settled abroad.

Chand, 63, had been allegedly sexually exploiting young girls from his upscale residence over the past 2 years.

Luckily a CCTV technician came across these footages when he was repairing the CCTV cameras. Once he saw the footage, he reported it, leaving many people shocked and demanding justice for these girls. The police soon took up the case. They immediately started tracking down the accused. Furthermore, the police is also trying to trace all the girls who were exploited by the accused, so as to gather more evidence and build a strong case against Chand.

Senior police officers claimed that a thorough interrogation was on to understand the case better and trace the minor girls who were victim to sexual exploitation.

Nitin Tiwari, Meerut SSP said – “Police took cognisance of the matter as soon as information was received. It is a very sensitive matter and police are dealing with it.”

Meerut’s division ADG Prashant Kumar informed that the main accused had been arrested. He further had said that the police will ensure justice for all the minor girls who were sexually exploited

Another source from the police had said, “It looks like most of these girls were brought through a pimp or some racket. They were forcing minor children into prostitution. Things will be clear only when we get to the bottom of the case.”

SSP Tiwari had further said that they will produce the accused in court and seek to extend his police remand to further interrogate him.

We can only hope that those girls get the justice that they deserve.
