The official organizer of JEE Advanced 2018, IIT Kanpur declared the results on 10 June. Meenal Parakh secured AIR (All India Rank) 6 and emerged as the JEE Advanced topper among women. Meenal secured 318 marks out of the total 360. The 17-year-old student of Kota’s Vibrant Academy said that she didn’t expect to emerge as the topper in the girl’s category. She likes to play Badminton and watch Television.
Meenal, whose elder sister was selected to IIT Bombay in 2015, said she is on cloud nine ever since the results were announced.
“I never expected the result to be so well. Instead of dedicating a fixed number of hours for studying, I used to allocate time according to the progress of my preparation. I want to study computer science engineering from IIT Bombay,” Meenal
Meenal's parents too were overjoyed on seeing her result. Her father Gulab Chand Parakh is a Doordarshan engineer and her mother Manju Parakh is a homemaker.
“The success mantra for me in the JEE Advanced 2018 was to focus on daily work in the best possible manner,” said Meenal
She also called hard work, regular revision and making notes out of classroom studies as her keys to success. She prepared through a lot of mock tests to prepare for her exams.

This year, the IITs have reserved seats, especially for female candidates. As per reports, 779 seats will be reserved in various IITs for female candidates. Around, 1.55 lakh students appeared for the JEE Advanced examination this year out of which 18,138 have qualified as per a report in DNA.
Pranav Goyal of Panchkula bagged the all-Indian first rank by scoring 337 marks.
It is good to see girls slogging day and night, cracking tough exams and chasing their dreams. We hope to see more and more excelling in this field.
