Marathi Actor Sneha Chavan Files Domestic Violence Complaint Against Husband

Sneha Chavan has alleged her husband, actor Aniket Vishwasrao assaulted and tried to strangle her to death.

Sneha Chavan, actor known for her work in the Marathi film industry, has reportedly filed a case of domestic violence against her husband and fellow actor Aniket Vishwasrao. She alleged Vishwasrao, with whom she tied the knot in 2018, harassed her and was envious of her fame. Her complaint further claims physical assault on the part of her in-laws.

The complaint was filed in Pune, according to Times of IndiaCiting a source, the report says Chavan's complaint mentioned her husband constantly puts her down and was supported by his parents in this misconduct. Vishwasrao allegedly tried to choke her to death as well, she says, as quoted in reports.

The case has created a stir in the Marathi entertainment industry, owing to Vishwasrao's status as a big star. The 40-year-old, best known for films like Bol Baby Bol, Fakt Ladh Mhana and Hava Aney Dey has worked in films for close to two decades.

Chavan's film credits, meanwhile, include Laal Ishq and Hrudayat Something Something, among others.

A case was filed at the Alankar police station after Chavan raised her complaint. The 29-year-old has made serious allegations, including of mental abuse by her husband and complicity by her in-laws, in her complaint. According to a report by ">Zee24 TaasChavan alleged Vishwasrao was fearful her name would grow to be bigger than his in the cinema world.

Chavan is the daughter of actor Radhika Chavan, who has worked in commercials alongside the likes of Bollywood actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Lara Dutta. She is active on social media, where she shares candid glimpses from her life with family and on sets with fans. For her two-year anniversary with Vishwasrao last year in December, Chavan posted a then-and-now collage of them with the caption, "You make me better.. Then... Now... Always..."
