Bengaluru: Man Stalks, Attempts Rape On Woman In Front Of Her Daughter, Arrested

Man stalks and attempts rape on woman: A 35-year-old man allegedly barged into a woman's house and attempted to rape her in front of her one-year-old daughter in Bengaluru. The accused has been booked under charges of barging into a woman's house and attempt to rape.

The man was later identified as Prathap. He met the woman at a grocery store and tried to converse with her daughter. He further came to know about her whereabouts by following her home. The shopkeeper of the grocery store warned the woman about the man as he already had a poor reputation. However, she did not give much attention to the warnings.

The 35-year-old accused has been booked under charges of barging into a woman's house and attempting to rape her.

The survivor's husband was out of town when the accused took advantage of the hour and allegedly barged into her house. Furthermore, he got into her bed allegedly tried to rape her.

The police officials said, "As it is summer, she had left the windows open. He managed to open the main door through the windows and entered the house silently and went to her room to rape her."

However, the accused was not successful with his attempt as the woman managed to escape with her one-year-old daughter. She rushed out to seek help from her neighbours. The accused managed to flee the spot and escaped.

The accused has been arrested by the local police, according to a report. The officials said, "We immediately traced him and booked him for an attempt to rape. We produced him before the court and sent him to judicial custody."

The reports claim that the accused is married and is a father to a four-year-old son. He had been stalking the woman for a while before attacking her and kept a watch on her husband who was frequently out of town as he worked as a driver. On one such occasion when the woman was alone in her house, he allegedly attempted to rape her.

The police are still investigating the case and further details are awaited.
