Tribal Girl Gains Fame Overnight As Her Singing Video Goes Viral

Maloth Karthika: A Palvancha based class 12 student from Ekalavya model residential school got up to fame as her video highlighting the glory of Telugu Literary Heritage got viral on social media.

Maloth Karthika is a 14-year-old, who grew up in a disadvantaged tribal family of Bhagya Nagar Tanda in Karepalli manadal. The video clip of Karthika got viral overnight.

All this was only possible after the music teacher of the Ekalavya school noticed her talent and posted a video of her cooing the song. The ease with which sang displayed her effortless power to sing, the 14-year-old sang without any official training in classical music, grossed her wide acknowledgement from music aficionados with proposals to sing on music shows, as per Hindu report.

The 14-year-old also received rewards from Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutional Society (TTWREIS) “I never thought I would get so much popularity for my singing,” told Karthika to Hindu. Her father is a tailor and her mother is a farm labourer.

The budding singer also mentioned the names of TTWREIS secretary R.S. Praveen Kumar, Ekalavya school music teacher Mr Ramesh, and Veerababu of Palvancha, among others, were the ones who motivated me and inspired my flair for singing.”

This is not the first time that the internet and the glamour industry has given a voice to underprivileged artists, many such talented people rose to fame after as they were given a platform.  Neha Kakkar is one such example who started from a one-bedroom apartment but now the 33-year-old singer owns a mansion. Similarly, Faizal Ahmed, the son of a former rickshaw driver now owns a house in a city like Mumbai, the dancer started from Dance India Dance and made it big in the industry by showcasing his dancing skills.
