Male Nurse Arrested For Raping And Sharing Nudes Of Female Doctor 

A 24-year-old male nurse was arrested for allegedly raping and sharing nude pictures of a female doctor on Thursday. The incident happened in December of the previous year when both of them were working at the same hospital in Karnataka.

According to the police, the accused, Nisham Babu hailing from Thrissur district allegedly raped the doctor by making fake promises that he will arrange a new job for her somewhere in Coimbatore.

The doctor was allegedly raped at a hotel and the man took her nude pictures.

The male nurse allegedly sexually assaulted the female doctor by threatening to leak her pictures on social media platforms. As per reports, the doctor blocked the man's contact number due to which the accused shared her pictures on social media.

The police department has said that the accused has been booked under Indian Penal Code Section 376 for rape and Section 67A of the Information Technology Act for publishing or transmitting material containing sexually explicit material etc. in electronic form.

Such cases have been rising in numbers in recent times, and women are becoming the victims of harassment via social media platforms earlier a case came forward in which a 32-year-old interior designer Pradeep Sharma was arrested by the Delhi Police for stalking and harassing women online. The authorities uncovered that the man had more than 50 women’s photos and videos on his smartphone.

Before that, a 23-year-old resident of Ghodasar, Ahmedabad submitted a complaint, that she was subjected to online stalking and harassment by an unknown Snapchat user who pretended to be her sister and even used her sister’s pictures.

In Pune,  more than 1400 instances of “sextortion” have been reported in 2022. Which refers to threatening someone to post their private pictures or videos online to obtain sexual favours or money in exchange for not posting them. Earlier a 19-year-old from Dattawadi, Pune was blackmailed by a scammer that he would post her private pictures if she will not pay them 4500. But later the accused committed suicide as he failed to handle the stress.
