A Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra well known for speaking out against the BJP-led administration, has come under fire since she was overheard using foul language in the Parliament.

She can be heard using the word "hara*i" in a video that has gone viral on social media while Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was speaking. During the current budget session, Mahua Moitra also went off on the House floor.

For BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri, Mahua Moitra used inappropriate language. BJP MPs then demanded an apology from her.

- The TMC MP's outburst was captured on the microphone during her remarks on K Ram Mohan Naidu's, the leader of the TDP, speech in the Lok Sabha.

- BJP leaders criticised Mahua Moitra for the incident and demanded an apology from her. Pralhad Joshi, a senior member of the BJP and minister of state for parliamentary affairs, said, "I would ask them to apologise, but if she doesn't, then it's their culture."

- Actor and BJP MP Hema Malini responded by stating that such language should not be used in the Parliament and that people should learn to control their tongue.

"They need to restrain themselves from speaking out and keep their emotions in check. Every single member of parliament is a respectful individual, "said Hema Malini.

- The TMC leader, however, maintained her position and called the BJP's attack on her "patriarchal." She criticised the BJP, saying, "If I'm a woman, how can I use such a word? Do I need to be a man to be able to respond with as much quality as possible? There is patriarchy, then."

- Moitra defended her use of a "cuss word" in the Lok Sabha the day before and said she will continue to refer to an apple as an apple rather than an orange. She said, "All I can say is that I will refer to an apple rather than an orange, and that nothing I said was recorded. I will be honest when I speak. I will present my side of the story if they take me before the privileges committee."

- During the Motion of Thanks to the President's Address, "Mahua Moitra addressed the Adani controversy and claimed that a well-known figure with a name that begins with "A" and ends with "I" had deceived everyone. She also demanded a probe into the Adani Group's operations and the accusations made by Hindenburg Research.
