Madhya Pradesh Woman Critical After Gangrape By Three Men: Report

In a spine-chilling incident, three men allegedly gangraped a woman in the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh. The men reportedly inserted an iron rod in her private parts grievously injuring her. The woman was initially taken to the Sidhi district hospital from where she was referred to Rewa for her treatment.

• On 9 January 2021, the accused men approached the woman.
• The woman is a widow and lives in a shanty after the death of her husband.
• The woman was left bleeding after the incident.

On 9 January, Saturday, three accused entered forcefully inside the house of the woman who lives in a small hut following the death of her husband. The three men reportedly tried to barge into the house on the pretext of asking for water but when the woman denied having the same. After which, all three entered forcefully inside the shanty breaking the makeshift bamboo wall.

The three men not only harassed the woman, but also inserted an iron rod inside her private parts due to which she suffered serious injuries in her private parts. Moreover, she was left bleeding by the trio till the next day. It was her sister who took her to a local primary health centre at Amilia on the following day from where she was rushed to Sidhi district hospital.

The accused men belong to the same village as the woman. All three-Bhailal Patel and Lallu Patel along with one more accused have been arrested by the police on charges of gangraping the woman.

This incident came to light when only a few hours back, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on Twitter about the start of a campaign 'Samman' to raise consciousness around crimes against women.

Chief Minister Chouhan is yet to comment on this grievous incident. The woman is in a critical state due to the seriousness of the injuries.
