Woman cuts off man's genitals, foils rape attempt: A woman from the state of Madhya Pradesh chopped off the genitals of a man who had allegedly tried to sexually assault her.
The incident took place in Umariha village of Sidhi district, on Thursday night. The survivor alleged that she was alone at home with her 13-year-old son, as her husband had gone out of town due to work. The accused, taking advantage of the situation, sneaked into the house and attempted to allegedly rape the 45-year-old woman.
"The woman was at home with her 13-year-old son when the accused (45) entered their house. However, thinking that a thief had sneaked in, her son ran to safety out of the house," said sub-inspector Dharmendra Singh Rajput, Khaddi police outpost in-charge.
According to Rajput, the woman picked up a sickle lying under her cot to defend herself and chopped off the man's genitals. The survivor then lodged a complaint against the accused at 1.30 am on March 19.
The accused was taken to a hospital by the police. "After that, he was shifted to Sidhi district hospital. As per the doctors' advice, he was later admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Rewa district for further treatment," Rajput revealed.
A case has been registered against both the parties involved in the matter. While the accused has been charged for using criminal force on a woman with an intent to outrage her modest and criminal intimidation, the woman has been booked for voluntarily causing hurt, based on the man's complaint.
In 2017, a 22-year-old student from Kerala chopped off the genitals of a man who has allegedly molested her on multiple occasions for the past six years. The man was known to the survivors family. "My father is paralyzed and bedridden. My mother invited Swami for conducting pooja and offering prayers three years ago. He is a frequent visitor to our home," she revealed.
Praising the girl for her act, Kerela’s Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, “It was a courageous step, no doubt about it." Read more about the incident here.
