Madhur Bhandarkar’s Indu Sarkar goes on the floor to shoot, woman in the lead
Madhur Bhandarkar’s Indu Sarkar – a film on the emergency era in India- goes on the floor to shoot. With a woman in the lead, the film will be political and controversial. Emergency focussed movie will put the spotlight on Indira Gandhi who was the Prime Minister during the emergency. The exact storyline isn’t yet in the public domain.
Falak Ali, who performed in Pink will don the avatar of Indu in the film. Kirti will be playing a girl with speech impediment, who is the protagonist in the movie.
Kirti said, “Indu is raised in an orphanage and has a stammering problem but loves to write and read poetry… After ‘Pink’, I wanted to do something that would challenge me further as an actor. We want to create the same impact as Tabu’s turn in ‘Chandni Bar’ with my character.”
