On the night of April 12, the bodies of a man and a woman were found inside a Tata Indica parked car in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. After the Military Police patrolling the area spotted the parked car and the bodies, senior police officers came to the spot for further investigation. The bodies found inside the parked car triggered the residents of the area and even raised an uproar.

According to a report, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Qasim Abidi revealed how the Military Police patrolling the area found the bodies. "The military policemen spotted the grey Tata Indica car and thought some persons were consuming alcohol in it. They tapped but got no response so they opened the door and saw a man with a gunshot wound on his forehead lying dead on the driver’s seat. A woman was lying dead next on the other front seat with a bullet wound in her right side of chest” he said.

The man in the driver’s seat was identified as Sanjay Nigam of Sadar Bazaar who owned an eatery in the Cantonment area. The car has also been identified as Sanjay Nigam's car, which he purchased from a retired army man, Santhosh Kumar. The deceased had separated with his wife who has been living in Indira Nagar with their son.

The woman on the other seat in the car was identified as Asha Agarwal. The relations and connection between the two deceased people have yet to be established with further investigations. ADCP Qasim Abidi said, “Prima facie, it seems the man shot the woman dead before shooting himself.”

Inside the car was also found a two-page long suicide note that seems to be written by the man, as per the police. In the note, Sanjay Nigam accuses a woman named Anju of trying to forcefully take away his eatery shop. He held her responsible for this incident and his condition.

Forensics have also arrived at the place of the incident to examine and collect evidence. The forensic team confirmed that there were no such signs of any struggle inside the car. ADCP Qasim Abidi said that the suicide note has also been handed over to the forensic experts for examination and analysis.
