The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has been reconsidering its much-derided rule last year. Last year the awards were heavily criticized for its decision to cut down on showcasing a few awards live to save time. The official announcement was made by Bill Kramer, the CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Live Telecast Of Oscars 2023

Bill Kramer pointed out that the televised event will once again feature all 23 categories after removing eight of them from the 2022 broadcast. The categories that were not shown in the 2022 event were original score, makeup and hairstyling, documentary short, film editing, production design, animated short, live action short, and sound.

Kramer in a report said, “We are committed to having a show that celebrates the artisans, the arts and sciences, and the collaborative nature of moviemaking. This is very much what the mission of the Academy is, and I am very hopeful that we can do a show that celebrates all components of moviemaking entertainingly and engagingly.”

He also revealed that there have been a lot of discussions regarding the inclusion of the eight categories back to the live telecast, and thrilled to be in a position to execute it.

Bill Kramer was appointed as the new CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in June, the successor of Dawn Hudson, who announced the end of her term in October 2021.
