Our favourite YouTuber Lilly Singh aka “Superwoman” was recently roped in to take over Carson Daly’s spot on his late night show on NBC. She will be replacing it with a new series titled A Little Late With Lilly Singh, Variety reports. This will make the popular YouTube comedian and vlogger the only female to currently host a late-night talk show on a major broadcast network. The new show will likely debut this September.
Singh announced the news on The Tonight Show and Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers congratulated her on the feat. Singh will be the executive producer and Polly Auritt will be the co-executive producer of the show A Little Late with Lilly Singh.
Superwoman also took to Twitter to break the big news to her fans:
It’s official. Ya girl is getting her own @nbc late night show… A Little Late with Lilly Singh. Thank you so much for being here. I am truly so grateful. ❤️

“An Indian-Canadian woman with her own late night show? Now that is a dream come true,” Singh said. “I’m thrilled to bring it to life on NBC, and I hope my parents consider this to be as exciting as a grandchild.”
“A Little Late” will focus on in-studio interviews, as well as feature pre-taped comedy sketches and other “signature elements.”
“Lilly is truly a star and we’re thrilled to welcome her to our NBC family,” said Doug Vaughan, executive vice president, special programs and late night, NBC Entertainment. “She is a multi-talented performer who will surely have a great rapport with not only all her guests but also with our devoted late-night audience. We can’t wait to get started.”
Not long ago, in a video released on her channel, the 30-year-old Indo-Canadian star had announced a temporary break from work. She claimed she was going to take some time off from vlogging to prioritize her mental health. It was a shocking announcement for her followers.
“I am mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually exhausted,” Singh had said then, “I’m not my optimal happiness right now. I could be mentally healthier.”
“I’ll see you soon…” Lily had said to her fans, promising that this was in no way a goodbye but just a short intermission.
Actress, producer, writer and content creator Singh’s achievements over the last few years has significantly garnered her a huge fan base. She’s been creating videos consistently for the past eight years. She is the most successful YouTube stars today with more than 14 million subscribers on her channel. She writes, produces and stars in comedic and inspirational videos. A New York Times bestselling author, she wrote the book “How to Be a Bawse: A Guide to Conquering Life.” She has also starred in films such as “Bad Moms,” “Ice Age: Collision Course,” and HBO’s “Fahrenheit 451.” She was featured in the YouTube documentary “A Trip to Unicorn Island.” Another recommendable feat was when she appeared on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Hollywood & Entertainment list, Fast Company’s Most Creative People list and Time called her one of the most influential people on the Internet. Her comedy videos, vlogs, are famous among youngsters.
