Leena Maria Paul And Her Partner Sukesh Chandrasekhar Arrested In Extortion Case

Leena Maria Paul Arrest: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested actor Leena Maria Paul and her partner, Sukesh Chandrasekhar, in connection with a ₹ 200 crore extortion case. The couple was presented in court where ED sought their 14-day custody.

The extortion case being probed by ED allegedly was being run from a Delhi jail. The case comes under sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Leena Maria Paul and Chandrasekhar are currently in judicial custody after they were arrested by Delhi Police in the case.

The agency has also arrested Deepak Ramnani and Pradeep Ramdani in the same case. The court in Delhi had accepted the Enforcement Directorate's application to question Paul and Chandrasekhar in Central jail Tihar and if required, arrest them in the money laundering case.

The alleged conman Chandrasekhar alleged extorted ₹ 200 crores from a businessman's wife. The said businessman is currently in jail on charges of money laundering and cheating.

Who Is Leena Maria Paul? 

Leena Maria Paul made her acting debut with small-time roles in Telugu and Tamil films. She was also seen in Madras Cafe, a Bollywood film starring John Abraham. Her association with her husband Sukesh Chandrasekhar has made news a number of times.

Paul allegedly holds credits more than any popular actor in the Malayalam film industry. She reportedly owns a bungalow worth more than a crore in Chennai. The bungalow has now been confiscated by the ED along with six luxury cars. In addition to that, the agency also recovered two kilos of gold and more than 80 lakh rupees in case.

Several expensive bags worth Rs 29.6 lakh were also taken away from the ED. Paul made news when underworld don Ravi Poojara's gang carried out a shootout at her beauty parlour in 2017. She was arrested in 2013 with her husband for allegedly cheating Rs 19 crore in addition to the extortion amount which was reported at Rs 76 Lakh.
