At just the age of nine, Lama Jamous is the youngest journalist from Palestine, boldly reporting events from the ground to disseminate awareness. She has accumulated over 600 thousand followers on social media, not just for the novelty of being a child journalist, but more so for the accurate and no-frill reporting from the war-torn nation.

9-Year-Old Journalist

While the internet debates whether children should have their own social media pages or smartphones, 9-year-old Lama Jamous has proven that with the right motives and guidance, social media can be a valuable tool for anyone. She uses her social media to gather attention towards the atrocities that her fellow Palestinians are going through, giving great importance to journalistic codes and demands.

Translation, according to an Instagram user in the video's comments:

"Hello guys! How are you today? Last night the occupation army targeted the maternity ward in Naser hospital, where refugees and injured victims were sheltering. You can see here, the damage done in the room. You can also see the blood splatter of this girl below who lost her whole family and her two legs in the shelling, and now she's martyred in the maternity ward. May her soul rest in peace and hope war will end soon."
