A farewell party in Rajasthan’s Kota turned into a heartbreaking tragedy when the wife of a government employee collapsed and passed away during the event. The emotional incident, captured on video, has since gone viral on social media, leaving many in shock.
Govt Worker Retires Early For Wife’s Health, Farewell Ends In Heartbreak
The farewell was organised for Devendra Sandal, a manager at the Central Warehousing Corporation, who opted for early retirement, three years ahead of schedule, to care for his ailing wife, Tina. Tina had been battling heart-related health issues, which had prompted Devendra to prioritise her well-being over his career.
The event began on a joyous note, with garlands, smiles, and rose petals adorning the table. Devendra and Tina were celebrated by their colleagues in a warm and cheerful atmosphere.
Amid the celebrations, Tina suddenly expressed unease, telling her husband, “Mujhe chakkar aa rahe hain” (I’m feeling dizzy). Devendra quickly helped her sit on a chair and tried to comfort her by massaging her back. Concerned guests rushed to get water, with voices echoing, “Paani la dena, paani” (Bring some water, please).
Despite the concern, Tina managed to give a faint smile when someone asked her to pose for a photograph. Tragically, moments later, she swayed and collapsed face-first onto the table covered with rose petals.
Devendra and the attendees rushed to assist her and immediately took her to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
The incident has left the family and everyone present at the farewell in deep sorrow. Tina’s fragile health was the reason Devendra had made the significant decision to retire early and dedicate his time to her care. What began as a heartfelt celebration to honour Devendra’s selfless choice turned into an unforgettable tragedy, reminding everyone of life’s unpredictable nature.
