The makers of Indoo Ki Jawani, starring Kiara Advani in the lead role, have announced that the film will have a theatrical release on December 11 this year. The announcement, that comes while many films continue to opt for OTT release amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, was made on social media today. A poster for the film featuring Advani was also shared along with the release date announcement. Apart from Kiara Advani, the film also features Aditya Seal and Mallika Dua in key roles.

Indoo Ki Jawani has been written and directed by Abir Sengupta and is Advani's first women centric film as a solo lead. According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, the film is a coming-of-age story of a free-spirited, small town girl from Ghaziabad and her experiments with a dating app. Advani told Mirror, "It’s because Indoo has broken up with her boyfriend that she decides to experiment with a dating app and brings chaos into her housing colony as she randomly swipes on it."
The OTT rights for the film have been acquired by Netflix.
