She spoke to her elders and in-laws who encouraged her to sit for the exam on the same day. In an interview with TOI, she said, “I studied well while I was preparing for marriage. I am thankful to my parents, my husband, and in-laws who supported me", she said.

It is great to see brides giving equal importance to education and marriage. Another inspiring story is of a bride in Rajasthan who appeared for her final year exam in the state’s Barmer region on April 21. She was accompanied by her groom to the examination centre. The couple had surprised everyone when they reached the examination centre in their wedding attires. Her husband was quoted saying, “Hiroo has sent an example by deciding to take the examination amidst the rituals of the marriage. Education is very important in today’s time!” The bride also said that a wedding day is important for women but education is equally important because their entire lives are based on it.

Another bride appeared for her exam in Gujarat’s Rajkot on her wedding day. The only difference is that she went to appear for the exam before the wedding rituals began with her fiancé.
