Kangana Visits BSF Jammu To Promote ‘Rangoon’, Calls Them Real Heroes
Kangana Ranaut is all set to release her film Rangoon and has already started the promotional drive. The ‘Queen’ actress started the promotion of ‘Rangoon’ by visiting the Border Security Force’s frontier headquarters in Jammu on Tuesday. The headquarters is very close to the Indo-Pak border and the mood here is generally sombre for the jawans and their families.
However, Kangana’s visit definitely boosted the jawaans’ mood. There was a red carpet for Kangana to walk on and the headquarters was all decked up with flowers to welcome the curly-haired actor. Kangana met the jawaans and the other officials along with their spouses and families. She even paid tribute to martyrs at the camp’s Shaheed Smarak.
It was an environment filled with songs, dance and fervour as the jawaans did all they could to impress Kangana with their singing, dancing and acting skills. “The life of a jawan on the border can get very monotonous. It’s good for their morale to have such visits to break their monotony and give them something to cheer about,” said Ram Awtar, Inspector General, BSF, to TOI.
Kangana also had a QnA session with the BSF officers and jawaans and their wives where she answered questions about her fitness regime, dream man and her cooking skills. When a fauji complained to her about the fact that no girl today wants to marry a fauji, she quipped, “Koi bewkoof hi ladki hogi jo fauji ko reject karegi. I, for one, find men in uniform very attractive and full of integrity.”
“I’m so happy that my work has brought me here today and I’m able to spend some time with the real heroes of the country,” said Kangana.
The ‘Rangoon’ actor was extremely at ease while talking to the jawaans and took every question and compliment in her stride. In an impromptu performance, one of the faujis sang her famous song ‘London Thumkda’ in his own Kashmiri style: “Tu Kangana Rangoon ki, poora Jammu thumakda.”
