Bollywood actress and politician Kangana Ranaut has been named as the brand ambassador of the World Para Athletics Championships 2025 by the Paralympic Committee of India on June 18. The event, scheduled from September 26 to October 5 in New Delhi, will witness participants from over a hundred nations competing at the various events.
In an official Instagram post, the Paralympic Committee of India welcomed its newest brand ambassador on board, saying, "Her unwavering spirit and powerful presence perfectly echo the strength, resilience, and determination of our para-athletes. With her support, we’re set to inspire the nation and the world."
In a press release by the Paralympic Committee of India, Ranaut stated, "India's para athletes are rewriting what is possible every single day. I am deeply honoured to support them and help raise awareness about their incredible achievements. Para sport is not just about competition -- it is about courage, and I am proud to stand behind our champions."
Paralympic Committee of India's President and BJP Leader, Shri Devendra Jhajharia, who is also a two-time Paralympic gold medal-winning javelin thrower, further stated, “We are thrilled to have Kangana Ji on board. Her passion, influence, and commitment to India’s athletes make her a perfect ambassador for the New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships."
All About 2025 World Para Athletics C'ships
The Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium will host over 1,000 athletes scheduled to participate in India's largest para sports event. The 12th Edition will feature 186 medal events (101 men's, 84 women's, and one mixed).
JLN Stadium had previously hosted the Asian Games in 1982 and later the Commonwealth Games in 2010. The stadium can host around 60,000 spectators. Sport Events like Shot Put, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, Long Jump, and High Jump will be held.
