The face of Hindi journalism and ace anchor, Vinod Dua, passed away due to critical health conditions in New Delhi. The 67 year old journalist, was a well known face in every Indian house for his daily time coverage of Election Analysis, Chakravyuh and other famous shows.

He was the first electronic media journalist to have been awarded with prestigious Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award in 1996.

1. Vinod Dua was brought up in Delhi's refugee colony. Having interest in arts form from a very young age, he participated in many street plays and theatre against issue of woman violence.
2. He graduated in English Literature from Delhi's prestigious Hansraj College and did his masters from the same university, University of Delhi.
3. Dua was a veteran Hindi journalist and was face of prestigious television channels like Doordarshan, Zee TV (Chakravyuh), Sahara TV(Pratidin), NDTV, The Wire(Jan Gan Man ki Baat).
4. Vinod Dua was pressed with sedition charges by the government on account of sedition(section 124A), printing defamatory material(section 501) and causing public mischief (section 505) in 2020.It was based on his comments regarding government inadequate preparedness to fight the critical COVID-19 scenario in the country.

Supreme Court later quashed the sedition case filed against Dua adding that "Every journalist is entitled to protection"(Kedarnath Singh Judgement, 1962).
5. Vinod Dua had bagged many prestigious awards including the famous Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award, RedInk award by Mumbai Press Club. ITM, Gwalior presented Dua with D. Litt. "Honoris Causa" in 2016.

9. Vinod Dua contracted COVID-19 in early 2021. Along with wife Chinna, he was admitted to hospital in Gurgaon. Her wife could not survive and his health kept deteriorating.
10 Mallika Dua, his younger daughter informed of his death today. With a picture of her father in a pink shirt and a pink flower tree in the background, Mallika writes "There will never be another like you. The most courageous, irreverent, compassionate and funny man I know".
His cremation will take place on December 5, 2021 at Lodhi crematorium in New Delhi.
