Rubika Liyaquat mother passes away due to COVID-19: Journalist Rubika Liyaquat's mother Dr Fatma Liyaquat passed away due to COVID-19 complications. "Mother will no longer be close, now mother will be in me," the journalist wrote in her tweet, sharing the news of her mother's demise.

Rubika Liyaquat's mother, who was a scientist by profession and had a PhD in environmental science, breathed her last in Udaipur, Rajasthan. "Fatma earned so much love that those who follow every religion prayed with devotion," Amar Liyaquat, the late scientist's husband shared.

On May 12, Rubika took to Twitter and shared her mother's COVID-19 diagnosis. "Mother's real battle has started. She needs prayers."

Several media personalities and politicians offered there condolences to Liyaquat for her loss. National President of Indian National Congress, Srinivas BV tweeted, "I am extremely sad to hear about the demise of your mother. Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your family. RIP."

Entrepreneur Tehseen Poonawala wrote, "Dearest @RubikaLiyaquat, I am so sorry to hear about the passing away of your mom. My deepest deepest condolences . Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un"

Who is Rubika Liyaquat?

Rubika Liyaquat, who is a Hindi news anchor currently working at ABP news, started working as a journalist at News 24 in 2008. Hailing from Udaipur, Rubika went to the University Of Mumbai for higher studies. She was among the five journalists nominated by Sambit Patra, a spokesperson for BJP, to make a contribution in PM CARES fund last year. The fund was intended to help Indians suffering from the losses induced by the pandemic. Rubika too had publicly announced her contribution. She is married to journalist Naved Qureshi and the couple has two children.
