A nursing staff shot the video which is now going viral on the social media. The hospital confirmed the doctors as assistant professor of obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr Ashok Nanival and professor of anaesthesia, Dr Mathura Lal Tak and have ordered a probe.

Apart from the hospital, the state government has also ordered an investigation. The Rajasthan high court instructed the Jodhpur District Collector to include Jodhpur metropolitan chief judicial magistrate in the state-formed probing panel.

The superintendent of the hospital, Ranjana Desai said that the woman reached the hospital in a critical condition and they immediately transferred her to the operation theatre for a C-section. As the verbal spat escalated, the woman lost her baby soon after.

The video shows the two doctors abusing each other in what looks like an ego clash. Others in the operation theatre seem to calm the two doctors but they ignore everyone and continue hurling abuses.

Dr Amilal Bhat, principal of the Dr SN Medical College and controller of the Umaid hospital said the administration has suspended the two doctors after they came to know about the incident.

“I recommended disciplinary action against the two to the government and formed an inquiry committee for further probe,” he told Hindustan Times over the telephone.

State’s medical education department ceased the services of Dr Nanival as assistant professor on Tuesday evening. Then they reverted him to the medical officer (MO) in medical and health department.

“The hospital appointed Dr Nanival as an assistant professor on an urgent/ temporary basis. The medical education department has the power to terminate such appointments. And DOP is going to take action against senior professional Dr Tak,” Dr Bhat said.

The investigation is on. Dr Desai is heading the panel and have the head of anaesthesia Prof UD Sharma and paediatrician Dr Rakesh Jora as his team members.

“We recorded statements of everyone present in the OT during the spat until 1 am Tuesday night. Now we are preparing a report to submit to the principal,” Desai said.
