Jamia Nabila Sadiq, a 38-year-old professor from Jamia Millia Islamia university in Delhi succumbed to COVID-19 on Monday night. She was being treated at Faridabad hospital.

Her death comes after she had sent out an SOS request on Twitter, on the 4th of May. She had asked for an ICU bed for herself. She eventually did get a bed for herself and announced tweeted the update.

Sadiq had recorded some of the most tragic events of her last days on Twitter. In some of her last tweets, she revealed that many people were dying due to lack of oxygen and that this was too much for her to handle. She also urged her followers to pray for her, and her family.
Jamia Professor's mother died 10 days prior
Nabila Sadiq was a PhD scholar from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) was engaged with teaching, and helping out students with their thesis until April 20. This was revealed by some of her friends and colleagues.
Ten days before Nabila Sadiq's death, her 76-year-old mother, Nuzhat had passed away due to COVID-19. Her father had earlier contracted the virus, but eventually recovered, and was discharged from the hospital. He is currently under home quarantine.

Some of Sadiq's friends made a shocking revelation that Nabila wasn't aware that her mother had died.

When I came to know about her health, I rushed to her home with other students, and we started looking for a bed. We found one at Alshifa hospital, where she also tested positive for Covid.
