Who Is Ira Jadhav?

Born on February 19, 2010, in Pune, Ira Jadhav first picked up the cricket bat when she was just eight years old and has since recorded numerous achievements for India. She is a student of the coveted Shardashram Vidyamandir International School, the alma mater of Sachin Tendulkar, Vinod Kambli and Ajit Agarka.Β

In an interview with Opening Door, Jadhav revealed that she is inspired by Indian Women's National cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues. "I love the way she handles her teammates, the energy she gets into the team, her game, and her energy on the field. I am aiming for the National team. I also want to represent India at the World Cup," Jadhav shared.

Jadhav noted that the most memorable moment in her career so far is her first century in a mixed team, when she scored 163 runs. "This was in Pune a few years ago and the teams had a mix of boys and girls. That gave me the confidence that I could do well," she recounted in the interview. Jadhav was the youngest to register for the Women's Premier League 2025 auction.

Notably, Jadhav's idol Jemimah Rodrigues was 13 when she became the youngest Under-19 state team member. On the same day as Jadhav's historic achievement, Rodrigues also scored her maiden century and propelled India to their highest-ever ODI total of 370/5, their bowlers completed the job as India took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series against Ireland in Rajkot.
