A 19-year-old Indian girl, identified as Mehak Sharma, who recently arrived in the UK, was fatally stabbed in London. The 23-year-old Shail Sharma was apprehended at the location in Croydon on suspicion of the murder. As reported by Sky News, on the afternoon of October 29, police officials from the Metropolitan Police responded to a residence situated on Ash Tree Way. They discovered a 19-year-old woman with stab wounds, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Incident Details

According to a statement by the police, the woman is presumed to be an Indian national who is believed to have recently arrived in the United Kingdom. Police officers are currently making efforts to locate and notify her family.

The police force has confirmed that they are not actively searching for anyone else in relation to the murder investigation. They are now seeking witnesses, particularly individuals who may have witnessed or heard a disturbance at the residence.

Another Woman, Same Story

Earlier in June this year, a 27-year-old woman from Hyderabad was stabbed. Reportedly her Brazilian roommate in Wembley is involved in murder.

As reported by Tribune India, the victim was identified as Kontham Tejasvini. She resided in a flat located on Neeld Crescent in Wembley, London, in close proximity to her workplace.

A 23-year-old male was apprehended on suspicion of the murder of Tejasvini and caused injuries to another 28-year-old woman who shared the same flat with shared kitchen facilities.

A third individual was also arrested. The 23-year-old accused was found in Harrow. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and was taken into custody at a police station in North London.

Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley, who is part of the Met's Specialist Crime Command, expressed that the investigation is progressing swiftly, and extended gratitude to the public for their assistance in sharing information about this individual. The accused was apprehended and taken into custody.

Detective Bradley also acknowledged the notable distress this incident generated within the community and assured the public that a dedicated team of detectives is diligently working to uncover the details of what transpired.
