A report by DNA Analysis states that according to a statement issued by the Permanent Mission of India to the UN, the External Affairs Minister has shown commitment to the goals of UN women and have praised the role played by the organization in the formulation of the post-2015 Development Agenda, including the use of information and communication technology for development.

Serving as one of the founding members of the Executive Board of the UN Women and still being on the UN Women's Executive Board, India has been actively participating in the efforts taken by the organization to combat gender disparity around the world.

India also launched the HeForShe campaign recently. This comes at the right time as India ranked 114 amongst the 142 surveyed countries by the Global Gender Gap Report 2014.
