World Athletics U-20 Relay Event: Team India bagged the bronze medal in the ongoing World Athletics U-20 Championships held in Nigeria, Poland in the 4x400m mixed relay event on August 18. India ranked third with an official timing of 3:20.60, marking the team's season-best. The event also marked the debut event of the U20 championships.

India's historic win was achieved by the quartet of Bharath S, Priya Mohan, Summy and Kapil who clinched the country's fifth medal in the overall history of the World Athletics U20 Championships in Nairobi.
For Mohan and Summy, the mixed event was their third race of the day as both also featured in the individual 400m heats on Wednesday.

According to a report by NDTV, Mohan said on her victory, "We were inspired by Olympic javelin gold medallist Neeraj Chopra. We wanted to show the world that his win at the Olympics was not a fluke."
Bharath said after the race, "It is a wonderful moment for me and my team-mates," adding that it was the team's dream come true to win a medal at an international event and further thanked World Athletics and their hosts Kenya for making it happen.

Previously, Indian discus Thrower Seema Antil won bronze in the world U-20 meet in 2002 while sprinter Hima Das won gold in the event in the said championships in 2018.
