Three cheers for Indian women! Today Harmanpreet Kaur put up a brilliant show and guided India to win the #WWC17 Qualifier Final by just 1 wicket.

In the ongoing Women’s World Cup Qualifier  at the P Sara Oval in Colombo on Tuesday, team India by far remains to be the only unbeaten squad in the tournament and the first team to be qualified for the finals.

Having opted to bat first, South Africa got off to a powerful start. A hard 244-run target wasn’t easy to score for team India, but at the end, Harmanpreet saved the day in Dhoni style and smartly hit a six. However, India’s fielding wasn’t up to the mark this time. A brilliant display of batswomenship by Harmanpreet and Rajeshwari Gayakwad in an unbeaten stand in the last minute guided the team to chase a target.

Having been qualified in the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup last week, both India and South Africa had killer shows throughout the tournament. While India being the No. 1 in the ranking, South Africa, who were at No. 2 in the points table, only lost once against Mithali Raj’s team.

India before the final, has had won all the five matches in their group stage encounter, while also clinching all their three games in the Super Six stage. After qualifying for the final easily, they remained stable and defeated Pakistan in the last match.

Although, a powerful batting came from South Africa Women when they scored 244 at the end of their innings, it was a thrilling last-ball finish to watch by the Indian women and how they thrashed the opponents into the ground.

Captain Mithali Raj now heads the list of top run-scorers with 207 runs.

Indian women lift the Trophy. A big Congratulations!
