Padma Rani Omprakash, Hrithik Roshan's Maternal Grandmother, Dies At 91

Padma Rani Omprakash, the maternal grandmother of Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, died on Thursday, June 16. Padma Rani, the wife of filmmaker J Om Prakash, died at the age of 91 from age-related ailments. 

According to reports, she had been bedridden for some time and had spent the previous two years with the Roshan family. Her health did not improve, unfortunately.

Pinkie Roshan, Hrithik's mother, has been posting images of Padma Rani on her Instagram account for the past four months. Pinkie's mother can be seen laying in bed in one of the photos she posted. Pinkie captioned the photo, "Mothers are special, love you mum."

In another post, Pinkie could be seen hugging her mother. She had written, “Love you mummy for your unconditional love… my most special people… mom and dad.”

J Om Prakash, Hrithik's maternal grandpa and Padma Rani's husband, was a well-known producer and director. Aap Ki Kasam, Aas Ka Panchhi, Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Aaye Din Bahar Ke, Aadmi Khilona Hai, Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke, and Aankhon Aankhon Mein are some of his most well-known flicks. J Om Prakash died in 2019 at the age of 93.

Hrithik took to Twitter to post images of himself with his grandfather, along with a touching message. He tweeted, "#MySuperTeacher - My Nana who I lovingly call Deda, for the lessons he has taught me at every stage of my life, which I share with my kids now. And Dr Oza, my speech therapist as a child, taught me to accept my weakness and helped me overcome my fear of stammer."  Hrithik has always mentioned his grandparents on various occasions.
