The Punjab and Haryana court has started taking up complaints regarding the matter and promptly issued a notice to the Haryana government. The court has now taken Suo Moto cognisance of the case after it received numerous complaints regarding the matter via email. Justice Arun Kumar Tyagi noted that complaints dated February 6, 2021, and February 8 2021 had been received.

Dalit labour activist Nodeep Kaur was arrested on January 12

The Dalit activist Nodeep Kaur was arrested and jailed for participating in a protest in the Kundli industrial area with about 20 people. They were demanding wages when a violent clash erupted between them and the police. She was then charged with murder, extortion, rioting, etc.

However, her sister Rajveer Kaur has refuted these allegations. "The government is afraid of the unity of workers of farmers and that is why my sister is being targeted," Rajveer Kaur told reporters. "She has been beaten up in the police station by male staff and has even been sexually assaulted. There are injuries in her private parts. There should be strict action," she said.

But the Sonipat police have turned down her allegations by saying that Nodeep's protest injured seven police personnel including a constable. They have also denied the sexual assault charges.
