Gujarat Woman Raped: A woman in Vadodara, Gujarat was allegedly raped by a man she met through a matrimonial site.
As per reports, the woman approached the cops to file a complaint in this regard on Tuesday. She claimed that the raped in a hotel room on the Visat-Gandhinagar highway on September 23.
The survivor stated in the complaint that she got divorced in 2019 after being married for one year due to her parents' wish. She was looking to remarry hence joined a matrimonial site. That is where she met the accused man named Dhrumit Solanki.
The woman claimed that she soon started talking to the 28-year-old man on the website and then exchanged phone numbers. The man reportedly proposed to her for marriage. He showed interest in meeting her on September 22.
The woman visited the Visat area around 10 pm on September 23 when the man took her to a hotel. As per reports, the woman said that the accused had already booked the hotel room and raped her there. The following the duo left the hotel and the woman left for Vadodara.
On October 18, the man reportedly informed the woman that his marriage got fixed with someone else and that he could not marry her. The woman tried to meet him by visiting his house in Chandkheda on Tuesday but he did not show up. She narrated the whole incident to his parents and they apologised for their son's actions. The woman stated in her complaint that she repeatedly tried to get in touch with the man but he did not take her call. After several failed attempts, she decided to reach out to the police and filed a complaint of rape.
