You never know what is going on in young people's minds unless they take a drastic step just like this university student who shot his female friend dead on campus and then killed himself with the gun.

The case of a university student killing his female friend on a college campus is a hot topic of discussion currently. The case from Greater Noida is attracting concern regarding how students' mental health can force them to take drastic decisions in life like killing each other. The boy was allegedly troubled by their tainted relationship and somehow smuggled a gun inside the campus. He talked for a while with the girl before shooting her dead and then killing himself in the college hostel. Here's all you need to know about the case.

1. The incident took place on May 18 at the Shiv Nadar University situated in Dadri where the two students studied.
2. The boy, identified as Anuj Singh from Amroha, and the girl, identified as Sneha Chaurasia, were third-year students in the BA Sociology course.
3. The students were allegedly in a relationship for about 1.5 years but had been facing differences since December last year which reportedly took a toll on the boy's mental health.
4. In the CCTV footage recovered from the college campus, the two 21-year-olds can be seen meeting up in front of the dining hall and having a conversation and hugging each other.
5. Their conversation turns into a quarrel after which the boy took out a gun from his backpack and shot the girl. He then ran away to the boys’ hostel and shot himself in his room as well.
6.  The police arrived at about 1:30 pm after being informed of the incident and took the dead bodies of the students to the hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.
7. The police registered an FIR against four people and the Shiv Nadar University administration in connection with the murder. The deceased student who allegedly shot the woman and then died by suicide, a university staffer, the varsity administration, and a photographer who used to visit campus and a Kanpur-based man was booked.
   
   The varsity administration, photographer, and Kanpur-based man were mentioned in a video by the student before he died by suicide.
8. Both have reportedly completed their college term and while the other students were dismissed on May 17 for summer break, they stayed back in the hostel.
9. The university has expressed grief over the demise of the students and has said that it will cooperate with the investigation. They assured that the rest of the students on campus were safe.
10. The police have sent the bodies for postmortem and have informed their families as well. They are currently investigating how the boy was able to bring the gun inside the campus.
