The body of a two-year-old girl who was missing for two days was found inside a bag hanging on her neighbour's door in Greater Noida.

The girl's parents and her seven-month-old live in Devla village. The parents are daily wage workers who work in a factory nearby. On Friday, April 7, her father Shiv Kumar went to work and her mother Manju had gone to the market.

When they returned, they found that their daughter was missing and registered a complaint with the police.

After the child went missing, the accused pretended to help in the search operation but fled as his home reeked due to the dead body.

After two days of searching for the 2-year-old, Shiv Kumar complained that a foul odour was coming from his neighbour Raghavendra's locked home.

Shiv Kumar and the police managed to enter the home and found the girl's body inside a bag hung from a door.

A post-mortem report revealed that the cause of death was strangulation. According to senior Noida police officer Rajeev Dixit, initially, there was suspicion of rape, but it was not confirmed in the post-mortem.

The accused is absconding and police teams are looking from him. Special police teams were formed to catch Raghavendra. According to Dixit, the accused hails from Uttar Pradesh Ballia.

Unfortunately, this horrific accident is not the only one to shock the nation. Recently, the police arrested a 45-year-old over the murder of his 88-year-old aunt during a rape attempt.

The horrific fact only came to light during the autopsy of the deceased. An officer said the elderly woman was brought to a private hospital at Kacheripady, Kochi, Kerala by the nephew and other relatives.

The late woman had injuries on her face and hands and the doctors were suspicious of her injuries and informed the police.

The police officers noticed the accused was behaving strangely and took him to the police station. The autopsy revealed that there was a rape attempt and the nephew was arrested after being interrogated.

The elderly woman used to live with her nephew and his wife in Ernakulam North.
