Girl Goes Missing After Accusing Politician And Godman Of Exploitation
A female law student from SS Law College in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur has been missing from her college hostel since she accused politician and college director Swami Chinmayanand of exploitation. The girl posted a video on her Facebook account in which she can be heard saying, “A big leader of the saint society, who has destroyed the lives of several girls, has been threatening me with life.” She was allegedly speaking about Chinmayanand.
News 18 has reported that the girl has been untraceable since Saturday after she posted the video on Friday. In the video, she also claimed to have evidence against him. “I request Modi Ji and Yogi Ji to please help me. He has even threatened to kill my family. Only I know what I have been going through. Modi Ji, please help me, he is a sanyasi and is threatening that the police, DM and everyone else is on his side and no one can harm him. I request you all for justice,” the girl cries in the video.
She adds, “When any girl tries to take any action against him, he blatantly threatens them with murder, claiming he has links with all forces of law.”
The girl’s family is extremely tensed about the condition of their daughter. Her father has given a written complaint against Chinmayanand. “The last time she came home was on Raksha Bandhan. I asked her why her phone remained switched off so frequently. She said, ‘if my phone goes off for a longer duration then understand that I am in trouble. My phone will go off only when it is not in my hands.’ My girl was going through a lot of pain and trouble but didn’t divulge much. She told me she was being sent to Nainital by her college administration,” her mother said.
Her father said that he is not being able to connect with his daughter for a few days now. “My daughter never told me anything personally. She looked worried when she was home on Raksha Bandhan. She has been missing for four days. I have given a written complaint against college director Swami Chinmayanand but no action has been taken yet,” he said.
“When any girl tries to take any action against him, he blatantly threatens them with murder, claiming he has links with all forces of law.”
The police did not register any case in this matter until the media picked up the case. A complaint has been filed today after much persistence by the family of the girl, who is pursuing LLM from SS Law College.
Chinmayanand, who is the former Minister of State home and a BJP leader, isn’t new to criminal cases as in November 2011 he was charged with rape after a girl who had lived at his Ashram for several years accused him of sexually assaulting her. However, the UP government recently tried to shield him when the Yogi Adityanath government in March this year wrote a letter to withdraw the case. But in May, a local court rejected the UP govt.’s plea.
