Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal's girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades, who is a model and an entrepreneur, called in today for questioning by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) again. Reportedly, she had appeared before the agency on Wednesday as well. Meanwhile, Rampal has been summoned on Friday.
Earlier, Demetriades was asked to come in at the agency after the officials had conducted raids at the actor’s Mumbai home and office on November 9. “Arjun Rampal's girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades summoned again by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on 12th November, in a drug-related case,” ANI had confirmed.
Sameer Wankhede of the NCB, told The Times of India, “Gabriella has been called again as the investigation is still not complete. We have now told Arjun Rampal to appear before NCB on Friday.”
Last month, Demetriades ’s brother, Agisilaos Demetriades was arrested by the NCB in the drug-related case. “Demetriades was dealing in a variety of drugs. Electronic evidence showed that he was in touch with Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda, who are linked with accused Rhea and Showik Chakraborty,” an officer told Hindustan Times.
On Sunday, the NCB team had raided filmmaker Firoz Nadiadwala’s house which was followed by the arrest of his wife, Shabana Saeed. “We conducted a major strike in Western Mumbai and Navi Mumbai where we recovered ganja in commercial quantity, Mephedrone, and other different drugs. We also intercepted five peddlers and based on that we conducted and recovered some drugs today morning from his house which was supposed to be part of the same seizure," Wankhede confirmed to ETimes. She was granted bail by a Mumbai court on November 10.
Earlier, a former Dharma Productions employee Kshitij Prasad was also arrested by the NCB in the same case. Both Agisialos and Prasad were allegedly getting supplies from drug peddler Omega Godwin, a Nigerian national, who was also arrested for the supply of cocaine in Mumbai. Reportedly, this is the same person who supplied drugs to Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik.
Several prominent women actors like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh have been summoned by NCB for questioning in the past few months. Padukone’s former manager Karishma Prakash has been summoned again by the agency on November 10. NCB had raided Prakash’s home in Versova on October 27 and found 1.7 grams of Hashish and three vials of CBD oil from her residence.
