Who Is Gabriella Demetriades? Fashion Entrepreneur Engaged To Arjun Rampal

South Africa-born Gabriella Demetriades evolved from a young model into a fashion entrepreneur, building a global fashion identity through her brand, Deme.

Actor Arjun Rampal and fashion entrepreneur Gabriella Demetriades recently made their engagement public during their appearance on Rhea Chakraborty's podcast. While having a general discussion about relationships, Gabriella remarked, "We are not married now, but who knows?" to which Rampal immediately added, "We are engaged." The news came as a surprise even to Chakraborty.

According to NDTV, Rampal and Demetriades have been together since 2018 and have two sons, a six-year-old and a two-year-old. Other than occasional public appearances, the couple have kept their personal life private.

Who is Gabriella Demetriades?

Born and raised in South Africa, Gabriella stepped into modelling at 16 and appeared in many editorial shoots, advertisements, and music videos.

Gabriella studied fashion design at a university in Sunnyside, Gauteng. As a model, she travelled widely and observed international fashion trends.

This phase eventually brought her to India, where she was a contestant at Miss Indian Premier League Bollywood 2009 and later appeared among contenders for FHM’s “100 Sexiest Women In The World.”

Gabriella appeared in the Malayalam promo song Neelakasham Kaividum from Red Wine. She also featured opposite Aditya Narayan in the music video Tu Hi Pyar Hai.

Gabriella made her acting debut in the film Sonali Cable. Some of her other acting credits include Ishq Jhamela, Oopiri and Ananya Birla Livin' the Life (Afrojack Remix).

Fashion brand

In 2012, Gabriella founded Deme, a ready-to-wear womenswear brand. The label was designed as an internet-first venture from the beginning. The brand is known for clean lines, bold silhouettes and sensual yet structured cuts.

For several years, the brand grew steadily through online platforms. A major moment came in late 2025 when international supermodel Gigi Hadid wore Deme’s olive green “Suzie” gown at her sister Alana Hadid’s wedding.

Expanding her fashion footprint, Gabriella also co-founded VRTT Vintage in 2019. The platform later merged with Luxury Pop. It focuses on authenticated pre-owned luxury fashion.

Gabriella and Arjun

Gabriella met Arjun Rampal in 2018 through mutual friends. Both had backgrounds in modelling and moved within similar social circles.

The couple welcomed their first son, Arik, in April 2019. Their second son, Ariv, was born in 2023. While Gabriella keeps her family life largely private, she occasionally shares glimpses on social media.

On Rampal’s birthday on November 26, she wrote, “Happy birthday to our guy, thank you for showing us how life is meant to be lived.”

Gabriella’s engagement in December 2025 came after years of partnership built without public labels. In earlier interviews, Rampal had spoken about their belief in commitment beyond formal definitions.
