Former K-pop Star Seungri Imprisoned: Former South Korean pop star Seungri has been handed a prison sentence for committing prostitution-related and gambling offences. The sentence has been preceded by a lengthy investigation into his involvement in the Burning Sun nightclub scandal in Seoul.
He was sentenced to three years in prison. He was found guilty of facilitating prostitution for investors, and also for gambling overseas using illegal foreign exchanges. He will also be required to pay pay 1.15 billion Korean won (US$1 million) in restitution. He, however, denied most charges during the court proceedings, as per reports.
