Critical care nurse in New York is among the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in the US. Sandra Lindsay, a nurse at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York, was one of the first health care workers in the US to receive the Pfizer vaccine. "I want to instil public confidence that the vaccine is safe,” she said according to MSNBC.

As vaccines roll out critical care and frontline medical workers will be the ones to get it. Lindsay further added, ""We're in a pandemic so we all need to do our part."

"First Vaccine Administered. Congratulations USA! Congratulations WORLD!" President Donald Trump tweeted.

Meanwhile in India, the government has come out with detailed guidelines for a mass vaccination drive that will begin once the vaccines have crossed regulatory hurdles.Under phase one of the vaccination drive, the government is planning to vaccinate nearly 30 crore people, including healthcare & frontline workers, people above 50 years of age and those under 50 with comorbidities.
