Jammu and Kashmir police have registered a case against social media personality Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, and seven others for allegedly consuming alcohol in a prohibited area near the Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. The other accused in the case include a Russian national, Anastasila Arzamaskina, as well as Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, and Shagun Kohli.

Orry & 7 Others Face FIR for Allegedly Drinking Near Vaishno Devi Shrine

According to reports, the FIR (No. 72/25) was lodged at the Katra Police Station against Orry and his friends for violating local restrictions. News agency Asian News International reported, “As per police, an FIR was registered against eight people, including socialite influencer Orhan Awatramani, aka Orry, for allegedly consuming alcohol in a hotel located in Katra.”

The alleged incident took place in the Cottage Suit area of Katra, where the consumption of alcohol and non-vegetarian food is strictly banned due to its proximity to the revered Vaishno Devi shrine. The holy site is one of the most significant Hindu pilgrimage destinations, and violating these religious norms can hurt the sentiments of devotees.

Authorities believe that the accused individuals ignored the regulations and engaged in activities that are strictly prohibited in the region.

A police official told Times Now, “A special team, under the supervision of SP Katra, Dy SP Katra, and SHO Katra, was formed to investigate the matter. Notices will be sent to all accused individuals, including Orry, instructing them to join the probe.”

The statement further emphasised that law enforcement would not tolerate any violation of religious norms. “SSP Reasi has reiterated that anyone violating the law, especially by indulging in activities like alcohol or drug consumption at religious sites, will be dealt with strictly.”

The accused individuals have been charged with violating the district magistrate’s order and allegedly hurting religious sentiments. The police are now investigating the matter and will summon those involved for questioning. If proven guilty, they could face legal consequences under the laws governing prohibited activities in religious zones.
