Eight-Year-Old Girl Strangled To Death By Neighbour For Asking Him To Switch On The TV
A shocking incident has come to light from Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu, where a neighbour reportedly strangled an eight-year-old girl to death, when she asked him to turn on the TV. The class 3 student lived with her single mother and would frequently visit her neighbours. Reportedly, the neighbour was involved in a scuffle with his father when the girl asked him to turn on the television.
The eight-year-old girl was not only strangled to death by the neighbour but was then put into a plastic drum, and her body was dumped at a bridge nearby.

An unknown person saw them throwing the body, after which he immediately reported the matter to the police. The body was then retrieved, and the neighbour and his friend who accompanied him to the bridge were arrested.
The police is also investigating if it is a sexual assault case. An autopsy report is awaited. “We’ve filed a case of murder besides invoking sections under POCSO,” Tuticorin senior police officer S Jayakumar told NDTV, referring to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

Last month, a 13-year old girl was strangled to death in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. The girl was reportedly strangled by her own father on the advice of a woman Tantrik, who promised the man a good fortune. The girl had gone to fetch water from a nearby water body but didn’t return home. Her body was later found in a critical condition near her home. She was the youngest member of her family, Times Now reported. Her father was later arrested by the police.
Another such case came to light from Gorakhpur where a father beheaded his daughter and dumped her body in a drain for resisting rape. The father reportedly raped his daughter for the last two years. After the marriage of his elder daughter in 2015, he had been living with his younger daughter alone in the house.
