At a recent public meeting in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, she referenced Cleopatra's use of donkey's milk to bathe and maintain her beauty. This peculiar tip has gone ">viral on social media.

Maneka Gandhi’s reason for using donkey milk soap

Maneka has suggested that people should consider using goat and donkey milk to produce soap instead of other traditional methods. She proposes this because a soap made from donkey milk can cost up to Rs 500 in Delhi.

"Donkey population is declining rapidly. The use of donkeys by washermen has also ceased. In Ladakh, a specific community noticed the decline of donkeys and took the initiative to utilise their milk for making soap." According to Maneka, using donkey milk soaps can indefinitely preserve women’s beauty.

Maneka Gandhi remarked that the increased expenses are due to the diminishing number of trees and the resulting rise in wood prices. This has also caused an increase in cremation costs. She suggested replacing wood with aromatic material in cow dung for cremations to significantly reduce the expenses to just Rupees 1,500 to Rupees 2,000, and potentially even earn lakhs by selling the cow dung logs.

"I really thought she was vegan," someone wrote. "Is there anything that can purify everyone and make them more #humane and beautiful in their #soul?" One user wondered while another stated that "well, soaps do not make a person beautiful."

"She bats for creating soap from donkey milk to ensure donkeys stay relevant in modern times," Opindia stated. Another user responded, "this is typical of a politician as she now wants to milk donkeys. She abandoned her duties and obligations as minister of Women and Child Development towards thousands of alienated children who are victims and survivors of child abuse, particularly Parental Alienation."

Some users tweeted amusing messages such as "Cow is a mother and now donkey is stepmother" and "Who are we to remark on? Well, she is the greatest person to comment on this because she has won multiple beauty pageants in her earlier years."
