Bandana Kumari, Atishi, Alka Lamba
The last assembly Elections of Delhi saw a total of 79 women in the fray, where 8 were the winning candidates from AAP. This time all the three major parties, have increased their number of women candidates. The Bharatiya Janata Party and Aam Aadmi Party have fielded nine female candidates each, while Congress has seven women nominees.
All eyes are on Delhi as the Indian capital heads to Assembly elections next month. The 70-member Delhi Assembly is scheduled to go to polls on February 5 and the results are set to be declared on February 8.
Atishi – AAP
The current Chief Minister of Delhi and the third woman to hold this office, following Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit, Atishi, represents the Kalkaji constituency. Last time she won with a margin of 55,897 votes. With assets totaling Rs 1,41,21,663, she faces one criminal case. She has graduate with a Master’s in Science from the University of Oxford and Bachelor's from St Stephens College.
Alka Lamba – Congress
Alka Lamba is contesting against Atishi in the Kalkaji constituency. She began her political career as a student leader with the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) and later became President of the University of Delhi. However, she lost the last time she contested from Chandni Chowk.
Rakhi Birla – AAP
Rakhi Birla contested from the Mangol Puri (SC) constituency, securing 74,154 votes. She holds a postgraduate degree in Mass Communication from the National Broadcasting Academy, Guru Jambeshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar. Birla has declared assets of Rs 76,421 and one criminal case against her.
Shikha Rai – BJP
Shikha Rai is contesting from Greater Kailash against AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj. She has assets totaling Rs 6,38,80,133 and liabilities of Rs 32,65,609. Rai holds an M.A. in English from Government College for Boys, Ludhiana (Punjab University) and an LL.B. from Punjab University.
Raj Kumari Dhillon – AAP
Raj Kumari Dhillon contested from the Hari Nagar constituency, securing 58,087 votes. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, Delhi University. Dhillon declared assets of Rs 48,08,47,690 and liabilities of Rs 20,02,82,749. She was snubbed out by the party earlier and called out AAP and Kejriwal for corruption.
Bandana Kumari – AAP
Bandana Kumari won from Shalimar Bagh with 57,707 votes. She is a graduate of B.R. Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, and her assets were valued at Rs 9,22,31,723, with liabilities of Rs 14,83,767 according to her 2020 declaration. She was also the Deputy Speaker for Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi.
Preeti Tomar – AAP
Preeti Tomar, representing the Tri Nagar constituency, secured 58,504 votes. She declared assets worth Rs 1,93,11,707 and liabilities of Rs 1,91,760. Tomar holds an MSc and BEd from Meerut University. Her husband, Jitender Singh Tomar, is also a former member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly
Ariba Khan – Congress
Ariba Khan, 31, is contesting from the Okhla constituency for the Indian National Congress (INC). Daughter of prominent local politician Asif Mohd Khan, Ariba has been actively involved in social activism, particularly in education, healthcare, and women’s rights. She is one of the youngest candidates in the 2025 elections.
Bhavna Gaur – AAP
Bhavna Gaur won 92,775 votes from the Palam constituency. She has a BA from the University of Delhi and a BEd from Maharishi Dayanand University. Gaur reported assets worth Rs 14,27,686 and liabilities of Rs 8,62,526.
Pramila Tokas – AAP
Pramila Tokas, contesting from the R K Puram constituency, secured 47,208 votes. Tokas has two criminal cases registered against her and declared assets of Rs 80,88,75,775, with liabilities totaling Rs 11,75,03,156.
A Dhanwati Chandela A – AAP
A Dhanwati Chandela A won from the Rajouri Garden constituency with 62,212 votes. She reported assets of Rs 56,90,40,449 and liabilities of around Rs 98 lakh.
