Deepika Padukone To Star Alongside Shah Rukh Khan In Pathan

Deepika Padukone will unite with Shah Rukh Khan for an upcoming film called Pathan. The film will also star John Abraham, reportedly in a negative role. The daily has revealed that the movie will go on floors in November and will be shot in Yash Raj Studios, in Mumbai. A trade expert informed the newspaper that the first schedule will last for two months following which the team will take a break for New Year.

As per a report by Mid-Day, while Khan will be shooting for his part starting November, Padukone and Abraham will join the cast and crew in January 2021. The film is being directed by Siddharth Anand, know for his 2019 hit film War featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff.

Apart from Pathan, Deepika Padukone will soon be seen in ’83, a biopic on cricketer Kapil Dev’s life, featuring actor Ranveer Singh in the lead role. The film is expected to release on Christmas this year when cinema halls open to audiences after staying shut for several months due to COVID-19 pandemic. Padukone will be seen in the role of Kapil’s wife Romi Dev, and is co-producing the film. Apart from ’83 she will reportedly star in the Hindi remake of Anne Hathway and Robert De Niro starter The Intern (2015). Deepika Padukone has also been shooting for director Shakun Batra’s upcoming film in Goa, which also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday.

Recently Padukone was in news after she was summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau during their ongoing probe into alleged Bollywood drug nexus. Padukone appeared for questioning at NCB special investigation team’s Colaba office on 26 September 26. You can read more about it here.

Padukone made her Hindi fil debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan with Om Shanti Om in 2007. Following which the two have featured together in multiple films such as Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Year (2014).
