Doordarshan show — ‘Main Kuch Bhi Kar Sakti Hoon’ — which went on air earlier this month, has set an all-time record. Based on sex education, the show garnered a whopping 400 million cumulative viewership — the highest of any show currently being run on Indian television.

The show was first launched on March 8, 2014, in over 50 countries across the globe. Following the overwhelming response it generated, Doordarshan decided to telecast it on DD India too.
While the show has elicited result based on the viewership, DD India remains in the third place among all the channels in the given slot.
The plotline is simple. Why are we so scared of talking about sex or any other private topics that Indians shy away from? The protagonist, Dr Sneha, juggles her work and family and takes up challenges that threaten her freedom.
The show deals with fundamental rights, gender insensitivity, child marriage, early pregnancies, domestic violence, female stereotyping, sex selection etc.
It is surprising that we are a billion people and yet we still don’t think sex education is as important as science or arts! In fact, sex education can help youngsters deal with many of their problems.
