Maliwal said that the Delhi Commission for Women received several complaints from women about their personal details being leaked on social media. They also reported indecent messages posted about them on social media sites.

The summon addressed to the DCP of the Delhi Police Cyber Cell by Delhi Commission for Women chairperson Swati Maliwal reads, "This reply is totally unsatisfactory as the Commission itself had annexed copies of more than 250 complaints received in the Commission, with its notice and had asked for specific point-wise information with respect to the case. Clearly, your office has failed to provide the information sought."

Sulli Deals Case Update:

The police have also registered an FIR about a person who had created a platform online to allegedly defame women. The platform was named 'Deal of the Day' wherein the details of different women were posted. These women also included pilots, activists, analysts, artists and journalists.

Last month this year, 'Sulli Deals' a website on 'Github' came to light. The website had pictures and details of the women with the title "Sulli deal of the day" and offered to women for auction.

The Delhi Commission for Women had sought the complaint details from the Police. They received a reply from the Delhi Police on August 3 stating that no information regarding the complaints has been registered in the Sulli Deals case.

The summons issued to the DCP read, "You are hereby summoned to appear before the Commission along with the Investigation Officer of the case for the purpose aforementioned on July 29 at 02.30 PM. If you fail to comply with this order without lawful excuse, you will be subjected to the consequences of non-attendance as provided in law."
