It's extremely uncommon for parents to watch a movie in the theatre with their kids. Parents are forced to leave the theatre because of disturbed children who are not acclimated to the theatre's darkness, sound, and light.

But in Kerala, if the infant cries throughout the film, there is no longer a need to leave the theatre, according to Kerala's cultural minister, VN Vasavan.

The Crying Room in theatres also have cribs and a diaper-changing stations available for the parents to use.

As a part of transforming government theatres into women- and child-friendly theatres, "KSFDC has built up a sobbing room at Kairali theatre complex, Thiruvananthapuram," he continued. The minister further stated that efforts are being made to expand Kerala's cry chambers programme to other theatres.

"There is a cradle and a diaper-changing station in the soundproof cry room. Additionally, plans have been created to watch movies in the baby's cry room without any issues," he said.

According to KSFDC Chairman Shaji N Karun, the facility would be included in new initiatives of the corporation. The effort was launched as part of the theatre complex refurbishment work in March. Karun said that six more theatres with the same amenities would be set up in locations such as Thrissur and Kayamkulam.
