They vowed to continue the struggle for justice, calling the ruling by the Supreme Court a crushing blow.

According to the sources, the father of the victim said, "This has dealt us a severe blow. Although we had faith in the Supreme Court and had come here in the hopes of receiving justice, we were disappointed."

"How can one have faith in the legal system if this is what the law requires?" he questioned. He claimed that a lack of justice would only increase crime.

The mother of the victim lamented the Supreme Court's acceptance of the prosecution's case as fact. She claimed that she and her family would continue to fight for justice.

We had high hopes when we went to the Supreme Court, but now we are absolutely destroyed, she said.

In February 2014, a Delhi court found Ravi Kumar, Rahul, and Vinod guilty of several offences, including kidnapping, rape, and murder. They received a death sentence from the court, and the Delhi High Court upheld it.

The High Court's decision was overturned today by a Supreme Court panel that included the Chief Justice of India, Justice UU Lalit, and Justices S Ravindra Bhat and Bela M Trivedi, who also mandated the release of all three accused.

The victim's father claimed that although his daughter's death in 2012 had tore his family apart, today's verdict was a fresh blow. The "legal system is blind," he claimed.

The three accused males were even referred to by the Delhi High Court as "predators" who prowled the streets in search of "prey." According to reports, the defendant would occasionally make fun of the victim's parents when they were present at court proceedings, even making death threats.
