Woman's Body Parts Found In Plastic Bags near Delhi’s Geeta Colony

Delhi police said, "The prima facie investigation revealed long hair and since the body has been decomposed, we are assuming it is a woman because of the hair.” The investigation is underway

On Wednesday, in east Delhi, a woman's chopped-up body parts were discovered close to the Geeta Colony flyover. The remaining body parts were being sought after by a police team conducting a search operation in the forest area close to the flypast.

Close to the Geeta Colony flyover in the Yamuna Khadar neighbourhood, the Delhi Police discovered chopped body parts on Wednesday. DCP (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi Stated, “Prima facie, it is a body of around a 35 to 40-year-old person."

Moreover, according to Joint CP Paramaditya of the Central Range, two black polythene bags have been discovered. The body's head is contained in one polythene, while the rest of the body is contained in the other. Police believe it to be a woman's body because of the long hair. The investigation is ongoing, but it has not yet been identified.

Cops Recover Chopped Human Remains Near Delhi's Geeta Colony Flyover

According to DCP Kalsi, a murder case has been reported to the Kotwali Police Station, and an investigation to determine the body's origins is currently underway. Both the police force and the forensic science lab are present. The deceased's gender will be confirmed by Ortho forensics, and a search is currently being conducted in the area for additional evidence, according to Kalsi.

The incident made people remember the horrifying Shraddha Walkar case, the details of which shocked the country last year. Aaftab Poonawala, Walkar's 28-year-old live-in partner, is accused of strangling her in May 2022 and then dismembering and disposing of her body in the Mehrauli forest area over the course of two to three months, according to the police.
