Congress Leader Manvendra Singh's Wife Killed In Road Accident

Chitra Singh, the wife of Congress leader and former Lok Sabha MP Manvendra Singh, died in a road accident in Alwar on Tuesday evening, officials said.

Chitra Singh, wife of Congress leader, Manvendra Singh was killed in a car accident on Tuesday, January 30, near Alwar, Rajasthan while travelling from Delhi to Jaipur on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. She was travelling with her husband and son.

Chitra died on the spot while her husband Manvendra Singh and son Solanki Singh along with the driver of the car sustained severe injuries from the car crash but were said to be "out of danger" by the doctors.

The political landscape of Rajasthan was rocked by tragedy on Tuesday evening as Chitra Singh, wife of prominent Congress leader Manvendra Singh Jasol, perished in a fatal road accident. The incident occurred near Khushpuri village in Alwar in Rajasthan as the family was travelling from Delhi to Jaipur

Manvendra Singh, a former MP and son of the late BJP stalwart Jaswant Singh, was accompanying his wife and son Solanki in their car when the unfortunate accident transpired. While details surrounding the cause remain under investigation, initial reports suggest the vehicle may have lost control on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, colliding with a nearby wall.

The family was rushed to the Solanki Hospital in Alwar where Doctor GS Solanki shared the hospital was informed about the incident at 6 pm and the family was brought some time later to the hospital. Dr Solanki shared that Chitra died on the spot and was "brought dead".

Manvendra Singh suffered chest injuries and rib cage fractures along with pneumothorax (air around the lungs) and is given blood but is out of danger and did not suffer any head injuries and is going through medical treatment.

Extending condolences, former Rajasthan Chief Minister and BJP Leader Vasundhara Raje Scindia wrote on her X (Formerly Twitter) handle expressing her grief and shock from the untimely death of the deceased and praying for the speedy recovery of the survivors. 

Beyond her association with the political sphere, Chitra Singh was deeply dedicated to social work, leaving behind a legacy of service and compassion. Her contributions to various community initiatives and her unwavering commitment to social welfare earned her immense respect and admiration.
